ADDITIVE COVERS AND THE CANONICAL BASE PROPERTY

چکیده
Abstract We give a new approach to the failure of Canonical Base Property (CBP) in so far only known counterexample, produced by Hrushovski, Palacín and Pillay. For this purpose, we will an alternative presentation counterexample as additive cover algebraically closed field. isolate two fundamental weakenings CBP, which already appeared work Chatzidakis Moosa-Pillay show that they do not hold counterexample. In order so, study imaginaries covers is developed. As by-product presentation, observe pure binding-group-theoretic account CBP unlikely.

On the Canonical Base Property
We give an example of a finite rank, in fact א1-categorical, theory where the canonical base property (CBP ) fails. In fact we give a “group-like” example in a sense that we will describe below. We also prove, in a finite Morley rank context, that if all definable Galois groups are “rigid” then T has the CBP .
متن کاملOn Definable Galois Groups and the Strong Canonical Base Property
In [3], Hrushovski and the authors proved, in a certain finite rank environment, that rigidity of definable Galois groups implies that T has the canonical base property in a strong form; “ internality to” being replaced by “algebraicity in”. In the current paper we give a reasonably robust definition of the “strong canonical base property” in a rather more general finite rank context than [3], ...
متن کاملAbelian Covers and Isotrivial Canonical Fibrations
We give a pure algebraic method to construct all the infinite families of surfaces S with isotrivial canonical fibration where S is the minimal desingularization of X = Z/G and G is an Abelian group acting diagonally on the product of two smooth curves: Z = F ×D. In particular we recover all the known infinite families of surfaces with isotrivial canonical fibration and we produce many new ones...
متن کاملCanonical Property Designators
The article scrutinises the semantics of canonical property designators of the forms ‘the property of being F’ and ‘F-ness’. First it is argued that, as their form suggests, the former are definite definitions, albeit of a special sort. Secondly, the prima facie plausible classification of the latter as proper names (which is often met in philosophical writings) is rejected. The semantics of su...
متن کاملNextClosures: Parallel Computation of the Canonical Base
The canonical base of a formal context plays a distinguished role in formal concept analysis. This is because it is the only minimal base so far that can be described explicitly. For the computation of this base several algorithms have been proposed. However, all those algorithms work sequentially, by computing only one pseudo-intent at a time – a fact which heavily impairs the practicability o...
